Believe Again

Have you ever been in a situation when everything seems to go wrong? Or when things finally seem to move in the direction you've been waiting for and suddenly out of nowhere it goes awry? We've all faced something that tests our faith and trust in God.

We sometimes get angry with God and persistently ask "Why God, why?" This is what I call a "Moment of Truth." What is a "Moment of Truth?" It's a moment we decide whether we continue to believe in God.

Do you believe God has a great future waiting for you? (Jeremiah 29:11) It's easy to believe God is good when everything is going well. But what about when it's not? Those are defining moments in our relationship with God.

A relationship can’t be solid if it isn’t tested.

Who do you believe God is? Do you know God? Or do you just know about God? Have you read about the story of Job? I encourage you to do so. God will never give you more than you can bear.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

God uses the good and bad that occurs in life to help shape us. I wrote an entry in my journal years ago when it felt like a moment of despair and unknown in my life. I made a decision in that moment to trust God completely:

"I don't understand much of what is going on right now. But it doesn't give me reason enough NOT to believe. So I will. Simple as that. God, I believe again."

Despite what you have faced in life with disappointments, heartbreak and despair, will you believe again?
